Peru, Here And Now

9 days from £1,100 pp incl flights, accommodation & transfers

Contemporary Peru is a wonderful melange of great music, football teams with questionable names and Lima always hints at the glorious and inglorious past.

Campervan Beethoven

Peru exists in many dimensions, most famously the Peru of Machu Picchu celebrates the ingenuity of the Inca people who thrived before the arrival of Francisco Pizarro. The north of the country is also littered with Inca relics and monuments

The youth take up tech

The Spanish cities of Lima, Arequipa and Cuzco have colonial centres that are marvels of architecture too. Another Peru gives a universal big up to dances to Chicha, Salsa and Folklor Peruano, a popular Andean music based around the harp. The locals also tear around Lima at breakneck speeds on the roads!

Sumptious Peruvian Cuisine

Ceviche fish, mediocre football, wonderful music and scenery to literally take your breath away are all part of the Peru menu.

The Amazon also has a toe hold within the east of the country and an excursion there is also recommended using Iquitos as a base, very different to the high Andes yet just as intriguing
